This time we're talking about one of Joseph Smith's plural wives, Melissa Lott.

She is one of the later plural wives that he would marry right before his death.

And she has a very interesting story, very connected to Mormon history.

Melissa was born on January 9, 1824 in Pennsylvania to parents Cornelius, Peter Lott, and

Pramilia Dero.

We don't know a lot about her childhood.

We do know that she moved around a lot, and her family was converted to the Mormon church

sometime around 1834.

In 1836, the Lott family ended up in Kirtland.

And if you know anything about 1836 and Kirtland, this would have been a time of great spiritual manifestations in Curtland.
