to Oklahoma City so I'm a little under slept and a little over-caffeinated and I am ready to jump into this week's interview with the legendary Jim

All right, Jim Lauderdale is pretty much the dictionary definition of an American singer-songwriter.

This guy has had an amazing career in addition to making his own

great country records bluegrass records and Americana records he's also

done collaborations with some people you may know like

Dr. Ralph Stanley, Buddy Miller, and Robert Hunter, just to name a few. And if you

don't know those records, you probably actually know his songs because

they've been covered by everybody from George Strait to Elvis Costello to the Dixie

Chicks. I mean the man is a hit songwriter. He's a songwriter's songwriter.
