Summary

This episode of the Phoenix Helix podcast is all about healthy habits - how to create them and maintain them. The stakes are high for us. We have autoimmune diseases which often come with painful and disabling symptoms. Making healthy choices regarding diet and lifestyle can make a huge difference in our quality of life. Yet even knowing this, many people really struggle with making these changes. Change is hard! Today, we’re going to be using a book to frame this discussion. It’s called Better Than Before by author Gretchen Rubin. It’s full of strategies for habit change, personalized for 4 different “habit personalities”: Upholders, Questioners, Obligers and Rebels. On today’s show, I’m joined by 3 other people with autoimmune disease, and each of us has a different one of these habit personalities. We’ll be talking about which habit strategies work for our personality, which don’t, and hopefully provide you with new ideas to support healthy habits in your own life.
