I was thinking as I prepped for this show that sometimes people ask me about how I carved my career path and they

always expect to hear that it was some sort of a straight line.

And that in and of itself makes me laugh

because my career was a lot of hops,

a lot of detours, a lot of stops, a lot of starts, a lot of stops a lot of starts a lot of well I don't want to really do this so I'm going to take a step back and I'm going to do something else and as I've interviewed successful women in my life I've found that's the norm.

It's very, very rarely a straight line and just hearing that every so often I think makes people feel a little

better about the fact that they might not be on the path that they want to be on
