rhythm guitarist lizzie mayland and australian-ist Georgia Davis first met at King's College London in 2018.

They began exploring the city's live music scene together, and during one wine-soaked evening in Brixton,

Abbey and Georgia put together a manifesto for a band, which they initially christened the dinner party.

Meanwhile, their future bandmates lead guitarist Emily Roberts and keyboardist Aurora Nishevsi,

were studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Abbey met Emily through a mutual friend

who'd recommended her as a guitar whiz, very accurately as it turned out, before classically

trained Aurora completed the line-up. They conducted their first rehearsals during the summer of

2020 and made their live bow the following year at the George Tavern in London's East End.

They wasted no time in building a passionate following, not to mention a reputation as an unmissable live act, and in early 22, a video of them performing at another East London venue came to the attention of major labels.

One of those labels was Ireland Records, who won the subsequent bidding war.

The group released their first single, Nothing Matters, in the spring of 2023,

followed in early 24 by their debut LP, the James Ford produced Prelude to Ecstasy,
