Today's episode is episode 301 and it's the 14th episode in our mini series covering the Tippett Murder.

Today we're diving straight into the Carl Mather Affair, a perplexing lead from Dallas's

Oak Cliff neighborhood that emerged just hours after the president's death, and it continues

to fuel questions about, well, what really happened that day?

This episode centers on a mechanics' sighting of a suspicious red car, a license plate

traced to a man tied to a slain

police officer and a CIA-linked defense contractor, and troubling indications of investigative

failures that, well, may point to more cover-up.

So, without further ado, let's listen to Episode 301 of JFK, The Enduring Secret.

At 12.30 p.m., President John F. Kennedy is assassinated in Daly Plaza.

Approximately 35 to 40 minutes later, at somewhere between 10.6 and 110 p.m., Dallas police officer J.D. Tippett is shot dead at Tenth and Patton in the Oak Cliff neighborhood. He's hit by four bullets from a 38 revolver. Lee Harvey Oswald is, of course, arrested

blocks away at the Texas theater around 150 p.m. And he's named the prime suspect in both killings.

Well, just about the same time and just down the street on East Jefferson Boulevard,

in fact, almost right across from the Texaco station that you heard about in the prior episode,

something interesting was going on in the El Chico Restaurant Parking Lot.

And our newly introduced a witness from the prior episode, Mechanic T.F. White was the one who saw it.

He was, of course, right next door to the restaurant on Jefferson Boulevard.

He was employed at Mack Pate's Midway Garage.

And amongst all the chaos that was happening at that moment, he observed a vehicle that raised

an immediate suspicion. On any other day, perhaps this wouldn't have garnered any of his attention,
