Summary

This week I'm thrilled to introduce you to Tracey Coates. Tracey has been practicing family law for over 15 years. She is also the host of the podcast, The Divorce Chronicles, a practical resource for those thinking about or in the midst of a divorce.  That last part, it sounds familiar, doesn't it? Yes, Tracey and I have a lot of similar ideas about the divorce process, which is just one of the many reasons I wanted to have her on the show.

In this episode you'll hear us cover a wide range of topics including the emotional, financial, and legal aspects of divorce.  We also talk about the importance of setting the tone for divorce proceedings and keeping your children's wellbeing in check, always. We also drop a few reality checks, like how divorce is never a cookie cutter process. Finally, we wrap things up by talking about how to start a discussion with your spouse about wanting a divorce. All of that and more, in this week's episode.

and sometimes even hilarious conversations about co-parenting, separation, and divorce, and all that

0:17.6

goes along with that. I'm Kate Anthony, your divorce survival guide, certified

life and relationship coach, and happily divorced mom who helps women decide if they should stay

in or leave their marriages and then guides them through the process one step at a time.

Today I have with me, family law attorney Tracy Coates. Now, Tracy and I met through a mutual friend,

0:42.9

and we hit it off fantastically. We have a lot of similar ideas about the divorce process,

0:48.0

and on today's podcast, she shares a lot of great information. But before I bring Tracy on, I have a few things that I want to tell you about.

0:56.8

The first is that I am starting a program for men.

1:00.8

I know.

1:01.6

I have been saying that this is in the works for some time now, and it is finally happening.

1:07.7

Now, here's what you need to know.

1:08.7

In order to create the best and most successful

1:11.1

programs that I possibly can, all of my programs are beta tested before they go public. This way,

1:17.1

I can get feedback about what works, what doesn't work, and the participants get my undivided

1:22.9

attention. Seriously, when I'm beta testing a program, I get so close to everyone in the group because we are

1:28.9

working together practically 24-7.

1:31.3

So it's a great opportunity.

1:33.4

This first round of this men's program will be a beta test.

1:37.3

And while I don't generally open these beta tests up to the general public, I'm doing it with

1:42.9

this group mainly because my email list is a little

1:46.0

bit thin in the men's department. So, if you're a man and this idea sparks joy for you,
