I'm Rosie Vooduri and today I'm joined by two Sedefop experts, Stelina Hajikristo and Jasper Van Lowe, who are part of our skills team and have been working on skills for the green economy for a few years now.

All right, let's start then.

We have been talking about the green transition and the European Green Deal since

2019. But what is all the fuss about? Greening actually has been part of policy for much longer,

even in the early 70s with the limits to growth report. But now things are different.

Climate change is visible around us and moving towards a more sustainable way of living,

producing and consuming has become a necessity to tackle climate change, so we cannot afford not acting.

The European Green Deal is a landmark change because it is the first EU growth strategy that sets targets

for greenhouse gas emissions and offers a framework to

approach greening and sustainability comprehensively. And if I may add, Rosie, the greening of

economies and societies is not something that is ever done or finished. We now need to focus

on making the green transition happen, CO2 reductions, making our buildings more energy
