Summary

A lot has gone into building and maintaining Brülosophy, and in the nearly 10 years we've been producing brewing/beer related content, we've been asked a number of times about some of what that entails. In this episode, contributor Will Lovell sits down with Marshall to talk about their experiences doing Brülosophy.

The Brülosophy Podcast is brought to you by Imperial Yeast who provide brewers with the most viable and fresh yeast on the market. Learn more about what Imperial Yeast has to offer at ImperialYeast.com today.

Even after 15 years, I still get giddy when I see the first signs of airlock activity, a nice fluffy cruise and developing on top of my beer.

The worst is when this takes too long.

0:17.8

You all know the anxiety that comes from checking on a batch a day after pitching and seeing no action.

0:22.5

This is why we love Imperial yeast, who pack 200 billion cells of the purest yeast into each pitch-right pouch, which assures quick starts, healthy fermentation and predictably great results.

I strongly urge all of our listeners to check out everything Imperial yeast has to offer and let them know that you appreciate their support of the Bruloscopy podcast while you're at it.

Listener and patron Jason Cox reached out to us a few months ago to say, quote,

0:55.3

I don't know if you've ever commented on how Bruloscopy is structured as a business, but I would like to know more about that.

More recently, Sasha Horowitz commented,

1:04.3

maybe a little boring to everyone else, but I'm interested in the operation side of Bruloscopy.

1:09.3

These are just two of the many requests we've received to go a little more meta than we usually do by talking about stuff like our experiences as content creators and all that goes into keeping Bruloscopy afloat.

1:21.3

I've so far resisted this suggestion for years, in fact, largely because like Sasha said, I thought it just might be a little bit boring, but judging by the number of times we've been asked about this type of stuff,

1:32.3

this is the Bruloscopy podcast. I'm your host, Marshall shot, and this week I'm joined by contributor will level to talk about all things Bruloscopy.

1:40.3

You know, as someone that was a fan of Bruloscopy for lack of a better word prior to becoming a contributor with Bruloscopy,

1:47.3

this is actually show that I'm super excited about. There's a lot of things that I've been more privy to as I've been a contributor over the last year,

1:56.3

and I'm kind of excited that we get to share some of those experiences and a lot of the history of Bruloscopy here today.

2:01.3

Yeah, you know, this is one of those things I like talking, I mean, I'm a psychologist in my real life, so I kind of like going deep and talking about the underside of things, whatever.

2:10.3

Typically, you know, I have some idea of how an episode is going to go, and while we certainly have show notes to keep us on track, very little is actually scripted. It's just bullet points typically.

2:19.3

That's just the way I prefer things for this particular episode.

2:22.3

Our notes are pretty loosey goosey to the point I'm really not sure where, you know, all of this is going to go as we're chatting about, you know, the what it takes to what it took to start Bruloscopy

2:34.3

and all of the steps to get us to where we're at today, I think this is going to be a fun one.
