I have a bit of sinus tachycardia, the good kind, not the sinister kind.

But it's more out of excitement because today is a very special day and a very special

virtual morning report.

Today on Juneteenth, we're taking the time to connect in discussion and in reflection

in our past and in our present, the so-called foreground and the background.

And our goal is to be proactive at the CP solvers, and we're committed to learning and acting as anti-racists,

not merely as not racists. And that is why we have such an important episode above and beyond

our typical case discussions.

And lately we've been grappling on the virtual morning report with pervasive and difficult topics,

the ugliness and lethality of racism, the longstanding challenges that are facing black individuals,

the lives that have been so senselessly lost, and how we might be active in rooting out this pestilence in ourselves and in our communities. I remember so fondly,

our very first reflection where we saw a video from Dr. Kimberly Manning. And it really is my

distinct honor on this day of commemoration to welcome her back, along with a very special guest.

And Dr. Manning needs no introduction.

We all know her as a physician role model, as a professor, as a healer, as an advocate, really as an unparalleled storyteller.
