So today's topic, it is something I have wanted to talk about with you guys for so long,

but if I'm being totally candid and totally real with you, I've been a little bit nervous.

I feel like the topic of money is a really weird, touchy topic.

And it's something that a lot of people get uncomfortable with talking about.

It's something that I have been uncomfortable talking about for a long time.

And a series of events happened to me today, actually, that inspired me to just jump on, bust out my microphone and talk to you guys about

this topic. So I want to back up a little bit and sort of give you a little bit of a history

of my relationship with money and maybe you can relate to this. Maybe not, but I want you to

know where I'm coming from and why I think I feel so uneasy about talking about it sometimes.

I'm in a very different place today than I was when I was growing up. I was raised by a single mom who did an incredible

job with us, but she did it on a shoestring. She had no money. We were broke growing up. My dad

left. He was out of the picture. He didn't contribute. He did not pay child support. And my mom found

herself back at work, raising two kids, putting herself through college, trying to make ends meet,

trying to build a better life for my brother and I. And she busted her ass and she worked really,

really hard. But she was essentially starting from scratch because she had always

supported my dad with his business when they were younger. So here she was, you know, I was eight,
