So Crystal, today we are going to be talking to bit of an expert on psychedelics and as

it pertains to mental health.

So it's actually really, really interesting topic.

People loved it when we talked to Dr. Carl Hart about the war on drugs.

It seems to be a topic that people enjoy and I'll tell you, I'm really interested in

this topic myself.

Yeah, absolutely, especially there's a lot happening right now with regards to science

pushing forward, potentially getting FDA approval for MDMA in particular to be used for treatment

of things like PTSD, which would really be a huge deal.

A lot of these substances were touted decades ago as potential wonder drugs.

Then there's like this hippie backlash freak out, everything's pushed underground and

you've had a very recent mainstreaming and concerted effort by organizations like maps

to make sure that scientific studies are being done in a rigorous way so you can prove

the efficacy of some of these treatments.

So really super excited to talk to Ismail Ali of maps about all of that.

By the way, I think it's kind of annoying that they even have to like dot their eyes, cross

their teeth just to make the case that like turns out these things that people have been

doing for hundreds of years, if not thousands, have some benefit to them.

Yeah.

That's why people have been doing it.
