Hello and welcome to the Pink Bike podcast. I'm Mike Kasmir, and today I'm joined by Brian Park, Stefan Pelletier, and Steve Frothenham.

And Steve works for bicycle retailer, or sister publication.

He's going to join us when we're doing some exciting tariff talk.

Because tariffs have been, they're very exciting.

We all have questions.

And Steve has more answers than most of us do.

So we're going to kind of get into it, try to explain what's happening, what we know,

and what we don't know, and actually what that might

mean for the price of bikes and the bike industry as a whole. We should probably start with the fact

that there is so much we don't know and none of us, although we're, I guess, industry experts,

we are very much not tariff and manufacturing experts.

Yes. I'm not pretending to be any economist or, yeah, I know how to read and I can process some information.

And to be clear, like by the time this podcast gets uploaded and posted, like four more things are going to have

happened. So we apologize in advance for not being up to date. But yeah, we've spent, I don't

know about you folks, but I've spent the weekend talking to a lot of bike people and friends

across the industry. And there's a wild array of people's

perspectives and comments and stuff is that way you that's your weekend fun stuff is

tariff talks just for Devine yes I tried to avoid it on my weekend but, there's a lot of that going on for sure.

Yeah. I guess we could just have, Steve, do you want to do a little quick primer for people that are tuned in and just kind of like bring us up to speed of basically what tariffs could potentially mean for people. I mean, mainly.

Yeah, I mean, there were already quite a few tariffs in place, but they were they were mostly on China's U.S. tariffs, yeah.

And so the industry had been, you know, evacuating out of China for years, really, but especially since Trump took office.

And then I, but I think it was a surprise when he came out last week and announced all these tariffs on everywhere else.
