inspiration. Before we start today's show, I want to give a shout to Jessica Herman, who is

the friend of mine that actually linked me up with today's guest. So thank you so much, Jessica

Herman. Today's guest is Claire Bidwell-Smith.

She is the author of The Rules of Inheritance and also has a new book coming out at the end of April called After This.

If you haven't read Claire's first book, it's kind of huge.

I would highly suggest reading it.

It has been published in 17 different countries.

It's won a ton of awards, and it's actually getting made into a movie with Jennifer Lawrence.

I'm not trying to make you feel bad by saying it's huge, if you've never heard of it it before because I had not read it either.

I don't know. I kind of shy away from books and movies and songs and TV that are sad or

have a sad undertone to them and I'm just sensitive like that, I guess. But I dove into this book and I'm so glad I

did because it's one of the most beautifully written books that I've ever read. And Claire is an

incredible storyteller. So the book itself is her memoir. Both of her parents passed away by the time that she was

25 years old. They were both diagnosed with cancer when she was 14. So it's it's her journey of

coping and dealing with the grief and loss of her parents. And then her new book after this

explores what happens after we die. And hearing Claire

talk about this new book, I have already preordered it and I cannot wait to read it. She interviewed

mediums and psychics and spiritual gurus about what happens after we die.

And she said that it wasn't really something that she thought about when her parents died

because she was too lost in the grief to really think about what happened to them.
