What's up, guys? So today on the Chiu-Jitsu podcast, we have Tim Spriggs. Tim is a, you know, he's an amazing competitor. He's been one of the, he's been in that level where he's been scratching, right, at the upper echelon of the Black Belt Division. And this year, he won his first world title as a black belt, the Nogi Worlds. And it was a really interesting story because, as you'll hear in a second, he went from working a full-time gig, basically being done with Jiu-Jitsu to winning a world title in the same year.

And I thought it was really inspiring to listen to.

0:30.6

And it's something there, you know, I think that, you know, a lot of you guys will probably relate to in some way, right?

0:35.3

So I wanted to take a moment and give some shoutouts to the people that sent in some reviews

0:40.2

on the podcast on iTunes.

0:41.7

They gave us a five-star review, which I really appreciate.

0:44.2

It helps out the podcast a ton.

0:46.0

Got one here from Scott R025s, has added this into my podcast rotation.

0:51.5

Great BGJ-related topics.

0:53.5

Chill vibe, and it's like talking to your

0:54.9

buddies about the sport. I hope this podcast continues as I'm now hooked on it. Well, I'm glad

1:00.7

you're hooked on it, and it's definitely going to continue. It's something Eugene and I really

1:04.2

enjoy doing. And it's cool to be able to bring people on the podcast as well as do some little

1:09.2

deep dives into topics from time to time,

1:11.9

depending on what we do. Also, with that idea of keeping the podcast going, Eugene and I recently

1:17.4

just started a Patreon for the podcast. This is strictly for you people that listen to the podcast

1:22.2

and you'd like it to continue and you'd like to support it in some way. So you can find details

1:26.5

about the Patreon at patreon.com forward slash the Jiu-Jitsu podcast or you can put in Jiu-Jitsu podcast in the search function. And basically what we're doing is we're giving you some extra content, you know, doing some extra rambles from time to time. A lot of times there's conversations that happen after the podcast is over. And so, you know, sometimes we just kind kind of keep going but it's a little bit of these like little tangents and things like that that really make for interesting conversations to listen to and so that's going to be available and you know the thing that I always kind of say with these things is that I start off kind of doing something but it always kind of grows into something more I say this all the time with like digital products that I offer. I can always start with one thing and deliver that, but then I can always over deliver. And so I guarantee you're going to find that, you know, we'll offer the extras for the podcast and I'm going to start like throwing more content in there from time to time. So if you want to support the podcast and you like it to keep going, check out the Patreon, and it just helps out.

2:18.9

And for you guys that are interested in supporting the podcast with the Patreon, the first,

2:23.4

we'll say first 15, first 15 subscribers on the Patreon, first 15 supporters.

2:29.4

I'll send a free Chiu-Jitsu podcast T-shirt to.

2:33.5

The T-shirt's not available anywhere else. We have a box of them. I haven't really put them up anywhere. So again, if you'd like to get one, we will send it to the first 15 patrons. After you're done registering with Patreon, just send an email to the Chichitsu podcast at gmail.com with your information, and we will ship out a shirt to you. So you get an awesome shirt for seven bucks and you get to support the podcast. So with all that said or all that's out of the way, we're going to dive into this. I think this is a fantastic podcast for you guys to listen to to hear from a world champion about some of the struggles that he's gone through and something that I think a lot of people can relate to. So with that said, let's get started. And so tell me about the, uh, the mush master thing because, you know, I didn't know that was a thing. And then after, um, after our match at the ADCC trials, I saw you at the, uh, you know, posting the thing with your hand over your face how did that start and what is it
