Are you tired of using nothing but punishment procedures when treating stereotypy? Wishing you could use some form of reinforcement as a function-based treatment? Well, maybe you can as we discuss two research articles exploring stereotpy as reinforcement. And, for long-time listeners, we finally uncover what crazy images Rob thinks of when reading research articles. If you don't listen now, it's just going to be spoiled for you at work tomorrow.

| 1:11.3 | Negative, negative. We have reacted. It's from Star Wars. I'm cool. So this week... All of us are just silently laughing. I love that. I assume that the podcast land is... Don't crash, everybody. It was hilarious. I know. While you were saying our opening credits, I was wondering what other people do in their cars. It's like reading in your car, but safer. And I was thinking, what do people do in their cars besides driving? I know. Sometimes people are reading. That's super dangerous. Don't do that, people. Don't text and drive. I changed my pants in a car once. While driving? |
| 1:12.4 | I was at like a light, so it wasn't Lord. Did you like to pee your pants? Why? No, I was going, I was, I was, it was in high school and I worked at the Wellesley College Club, so I had to change it to my work pants. So you weren't actually driving. Because you can do a ton of things at a stop sign. |
| 1:09.6 | Well, I was, you know, I was moving. |
| 1:11.4 | I had to coast a little bit forward and then stop. So there was, there was braking and taking my foot off the break and hitting the gas going on. Sometimes I eat salad while I drive. That's pretty tough. It is. I don't do anything. I just drive. I'm actually a pretty bad driver, so I need to really pay attention. I can't even use cruise control. Let's put that up. Cruise control messes me up. I don't do that. It never feels like it's working for me. I press the button, and then my car will start slowing down on the highway. I am like, then I'm like, what am I doing? And then I start thinking of something else. So it's a bad idea. But anyway. Sit back and relax. Sit back and relax. Enjoy the tunes. Or your behavior analytic podcast. Right. There's so many of them. And speaking of behavior analytic podcasts. We're one. This is one. And you're listening to it. And you're going to be listening. tell us so that's far that it actually is and you're going to be listening to thus far but it actually |

| 2:31.0 | now before we get into the two articles we'll be reading, we all know that there are a |
| 2:36.0 | lot of different treatments for stereotypy. We are not going to do an exhaustive review of different |
| 2:41.1 | stereotypy treatments. What we are going to do is talk about two articles that look at some |
| 2:46.2 | recent updates to one possible treatment. And we found to be a pretty interesting one. |
| 2:52.7 | The two articles we will be reading, well, we won't be reading them. |
| 2:55.6 | We'll be discussing them. |
