Here's your host, Brandon Adams. You know, college football has obviously become a very big business. You already know that.

And as that has happened, we've seen certain things about the sports start to change a little bit,

including the men that lead it.

The coaches, there was a time in which there was the archetype of what you might think of as like the meathead coach.

This is a guy who knew ball, but only ball, didn't seem to have anything going on outside his chalk, you know, board, his film room and just, you know, new football, but that's pretty much the only thing that he knew.

In modern times, though, that archetype has almost disappeared.

You spend any time around coaches now, these are guys that look good in their suit. They look

in the eye when they speak. There's probably not a coincidence that a good number of former

coaches are now also running for office, for instance. You've got to kind of have the glow and

veneer of a politician to be a good football coach these days. And if you'd prefer a different

comparison, how about CEO? How about the guy that stands up in the front of the boardroom and leads

as an executive? That's what a lot of coaches feel like these days. And I think you've probably

noticed that yourself. So with that in mind, for those of us who have a little bit of an old school bench, executive. That's what a lot of coaches feel like these days. And I think you've probably noticed

that yourself. So with that in mind, for those of us who have a little bit of an old school

bent to us, shout out to Brett Beelma from Illinois. Because Brett Beelma from Illinois, who you

perhaps heard of, especially if you watch mid-lower tier bowl games, you've no doubt seen his team play.

Brett Beelma, to his credit,

is single-handedly keeping the meathead football coach persona alive. I mean, I mean, huge credit to

him for being an old-school throwback to back-wind coaches, only new ball, didn't really know
