Hey everyone, welcome to the Cripes cast presented by Wisconsin's favorite soda

the Jolly Good. My guest this week is Taylor Kalmus aka Dude Dad.

Taylor has really made a name for himself doing comedic videos in the parenting space.

And of course he and I have done a bunch of videos together including Husbands at

Target, the IKEA Husbands, how IKEA was invented, borrowing tools and neighbors in quarantine.

Taylor is from South Dakota, and what I like about his story is how he tried doing the

LA thing.

He went there, he did classes, he had some success, but not a ton, and it wasn't until he really

dove into the dad niche that his videos took off and he built a brand for himself.

And it's similar to my path in that I dove in the Wisconsin in the

Midwest. It's a really cool story and I think it gives a lot of people you know sort of

perspective and maybe a roadmap for how they can develop their brand. Social media just gives so many

different options for people to create stuff and not have to rely on the

traditional means of getting an agent and getting on you know this show to then get into that show.

So it just really, I think, puts the ball in your court as a creator.
