We're going to continue the story of Billy Saul Estes, and today is a short episode as we go back in time and talk about Billy Saul's background.

His early years in Texas and how these moments influenced what he became in later years.

You know me, I'm a big person on context, and I think you have to understand a person's background and where they came from in order to understand where they have gone and why.

So, without further ado, let's listen to episode 250. in order to understand where they have gone and why.

So, without further ado, let's listen to episode 257 of JFK, The Enduring Secret. Billy Saul Estes was born during a blizzard in Texas in 1925.

That day and night wasn't easy.

His mother had labored for over 24 hours and his father had ridden on horseback to let the doctor know that Billy Saul's entry into the world had just begun.

Later in life, Billy Saw would comment that it was the blue northern wind that emanates from Colorado that is so cold.

You know, it can freeze your bones. Well, it gets its name for the fact that it can

make your cheeks turn blue. And the doctor would use it to nickname this new baby, Blizzard Bill.

And as far as names go, there are a lot of stories about how Estes got his middle name, Saul.

But as he tells it, it was actually paying tribute to one of his

uncles named Solomon. And to put a fork in a solid myth, which was likely generated by journalists,

it was not because Saul or S-O-L is the way you say son in Spanish. Of course, a logical leap of faith

you see being so close to so much son near the border

of Mexico. Mestis reminds everyone that back in 1925, when he was born, his father was training

hunting dogs. He would use some of the dogs himself, and from time to time, his father would sell
