I've been reading a lot about Mary Tudor lately, and actually today, as I'm recording this,

it's the anniversary of when she came to the throne is England's first queen regnant.

And of course, she gets a very bad reputation, not all of which is

deserved, some of which is also due to the fact that she was the first queen regnant in a country

that was not very friendly to that. But one of the things that made people the angriest at her early on was her marriage to Philip of Spain.

We're going to talk about why that was, what people were so worried about, and how it was dealt with.
