podcast. Today, I'm joined by a very special guest. Actually, kind of a funny story is I first

came across him when I was about 18 years old.

And my cross country coach in high school would take a couple runners every year to this

5K, 10K run in the Twin Cities in Minnesota in the middle of the winter.

So it was kind of like an incentive to get us to recognize how

meaningful training in the off season might be. And we were talking about running and things like that

along the way. And I was not really familiar with even what an ultramarathon was at the time.

But we got on to talking. He brought up this guy who had run like at the time. It was like 265

miles without sleeping. And I just remember thinking, man, that's crazy. And then he said, yeah, he's got a goal to run like 300. And I think ultimately maybe a year or so after that, you ended up running like 350 miles or something like without sleeping. So today I welcome onto the show, Dean Karnassas, the Ultramarathon Man. Dean, thanks for taking some time.
