A number of years ago I was introduced to a really cool book that completely changed the way that I viewed my Savior Jesus Christ.

The book is called The Jesus I Never Knew.

It was written in 1995 by the beloved Christian author Philippiancy.

It's a really engaging and really inspiring read and to this day it remains probably top 10 of my books that I've ever read and I've read it multiple times.

What I love most about the book was Yancey's journalistic approach to the book.

In it, Yancei puts away everything that he's ever learned

about Jesus in his youth or throughout his time in Bible College and in church sermons that he's heard.

And he then explores Jesus as though he had never met him,

using only the New Testament as his source guide

to reimagine his conception of Jesus.

And recently, Bueu Ancient Scripture Professor Daniel Bissera has done the same.

Only this time, Bissera used Christ's ministry and third and fourth Nephi in the Book of Mormon,

publishing his insights as part of the Maxwell Institute's brief theological introduction series books on the book of Mormon. I actually have a quote at the

end of the book where I kind of reflect on this a little bit and I say something
