having me. I mean, I think the question that, and I mentioned this on my show the other day,

is are we looking at the next Zoron? Are we looking at the next, you know, big W for the left? And so I remember you ran for a governor in the past. Now you're running for U.S. Senate. First of all, let's just start very basic. What made you decide to run this time around? Yeah. I've been in public service now for about 10 years, and most of my service has been in public health.

I became a doctor because I hated the fact that I could travel 15 hours to my family's native Egypt

or 15 minutes into the city of Detroit and travel 10 years' difference in life expectancy.

And I want to do something about that.

And as I progressed in my

education, I came to realize that so many of the challenges people face had less to do with the

physiology that I was studying and a lot more to do with pathology in our politics. Do you,

do you get to breathe clean air? Do you get to drink clean water? Can you walk in your community

without being victimized by a neighbor or the state itself?

Can you even see a doctor in the first place without falling into medical debt?

And so that led me into career in public health service. I rebuilt Detroit's health department.

I led Wayne County's Department of Health, Human, and Veterans Services.

Across my public service, did everything from help to eliminate $700 million of medical debt,

led that effort for 300,000 people.

Put Narcan in 100 different locations.

That program since we launched it just last year, has done nearly 20,000 kits of Narcan,

put glasses on tens of thousands of kids' faces, stood up to some of the biggest corporate polluters.
