All right. So you first came on my radar after I read this really compelling piece in common dreams

about what actually was going on with the whole kerfuffle with the airlines over the holidays.

Of course, those who have been tracking this know that it's not an issue that emerged just over

this last holiday season. The American prospect wrote a number of interesting reports about this.

I believe in the spring and summer of this year. And criticism specifically of Pete Buttigieg

and his role as transportation secretary have been percolating ever since. Frankly, his position

was announced. It was seen as many as a kind of reward for having dropped out of the race as one

of the only few moderate challengers to Joe Biden and it secured Joe Biden's ability to skip to

victory back in 2020. So maybe we should start by talking about what actually happens over the

holidays with all of the cancellations and delays. Let's get at the root of the problem before we

start interrogating what could have and should be done about it. Sure. Well, we had pretty much a

perfect storm. And for context, I worked in airline flat operations myself for seven years. So that

was my job. I dealt with I'm licensed by the FAA as an aircraft dispatcher and I would cancel

flights and reschedule flights and I dealt with problems all the time and I dealt with bad weather
