Hey friends, welcome back to podcast. This is podcast episode number 241 where I'm going to do a little bit of a then and now or before and after about my social media.

Okay, so if you have followed me for any length of time, you know that I am a business coach or about 2000 women every single month where I'm talking to them about social media and how to use social media then to make money.

It's one thing to like build your social media following. It's another thing to understand how to monetize it. So those are the two focuses that I have.

How do you get more followers, more people on your email list, then how do you sell to those people? What do you sell those people?

Well, should you do a course? Should you do a membership? Should you do a blog? Should you sell a product?

So those are all the things that we do, you know, in my coaching programs and I love it. I love what I get to do.

But it's sometimes fun to see like just almost look back and see how much social media has changed in the last five or 10 years.

I was even thinking today about how, you know, years ago, and we've got, if you're watching on YouTube, my son just walked by shirtless. He's home from across country.

So Easton, you're on the YouTube saying hello to everybody.

Alrighty. He's a lean main running machine. But I was thinking about how, you know, five, 10 years ago, was there this much division on social media?

Was it so much of a dumpster fire? Was Facebook so much of a hot stinking mess? I was just thinking about how social media has changed.

So if you're somebody that's relatively new to being in business for social media, and you don't currently like how social media feels, just stick around because it'll change.

I'm going to tell you things change rapidly and quickly on the line.

And so rest assured that things will probably change, they'll change fast.

And so in just walking down memory lane, I was talking with some other people just about how like even there are some things that we used to use that we no longer do.

Let me give you an example. I did a podcast less than a year ago on clubhouse, and I haven't been on clubhouse now for probably six months.

I can think, you know, three, four, five years ago, it's probably five years ago, periscope was the big deal.

So we were on periscope making videos and, you know, I've always described Facebook as a jealous boyfriend, meaning whenever Facebook sees another platform, another app getting, getting any headway, getting any sort of traction.
