So taking an ideas that fall under the category of existentialism basically guarantees

0:23.4

you're going to come across certain terminology.

0:25.5

What I mean is there's words commonly thrown around in this space when trying to describe

0:29.3

the human condition and all the bad stuff that's possible there.

0:32.7

Words like despair or anxiety, nausea, alienation.

1:02.0

because there's something lacking that's causing these experiences.

1:06.5

Many examples of this I could give.

1:08.5

If you're high digger, maybe what's lacking is an

1:28.4

obvious stable ground of being that we can clearly define. The point is, it's the lack of something

1:34.4

that explains many of the difficult spots we find ourselves in. But the guy we're talking about

1:38.6

today, Ernst Block, well, he's not technically an existentialist because he would go on to do far more

1:43.9

than that in his later work.
