Summary

Diana: I need the reason. Don’t say money. Why do this?

Rob: Why not do it? Because yesterday I walked out of the conference after losing four hours of my life and you’re cold-researching “Teen Beat” cover topics. Because the house always wins. Play long enough, you never change the contingencies, the house takes you. Unless, when that perfect article comes along, you bet behavior analysis podcast, and then you take the house.

Diana: Been practicing that speech, have you?

Rob: Little bit. Did I rush it? Felt like I rushed it.

Diana: No, it was good, I liked it. “Teen Beat” thing was harsh.

Hey everybody. Welcome to ABA Inside Track, the podcast that's like reading in your car, but safer.

0:19.5

I'm your host, Robert Perry Cruz, and with me as always are my fabulous co-hosts.

0:23.1

Hi-de-ho there. This is Jackie.

0:25.6

And it's me, Diana. Hello.

0:27.5

Hi.

0:28.2

Welcome, everybody, to the podcast about behavior analysis and behavior analytic research.

0:32.4

We're every week, except for this one, we pick a topic and discuss relevant research articles. And why not this one,

0:40.1

you might ask? Because you've been doing this for like 200 plus episodes. Well, folks, we used to do

0:45.6

every 12 episodes, we do what's called a grab bag, where we would all just get a giant bag of articles.

0:51.6

We'd dig around inside and we'd choose an article that spoke to us.

0:57.8

You know, like a Ouija board, a Ouija board of articles. But nobody liked those episodes.

1:02.4

So we stopped doing them regularly. But sometimes we did. We like them. We like them. I don't

1:07.7

think people dislike them. I just don't think they're as popular. They just didn't care.

1:12.2

Some people actually love that. Remember, we used to go to recent research articles, depending on what your topic is,

1:29.3

or they're a few years old, or they're themed. So we said, let's do another grab bag, folks. So we did.

1:34.9

And that's what we're doing for Grab Bag. So in Grab Bag, we just do an article, discuss it, ask any

1:42.9

questions we feel like, and that's an

1:44.6

episode. But the topics are probably not related to each other because we don't know what the

1:49.0

topics of everyone are until we're recording. So it's very exciting for us too. Very exciting.

1:54.2

It's a little spontaneity. It's like, oh, no, not another episode where we all read the

1:58.1

articles and thought about them and discussed them together.

2:01.2

No.
