fame. Here's your host, Brandon Adams. I want to go back in time just slightly to begin today's

show, I think back to prior to go back in time just slightly to begin today's show.

I think back to prior to the 2021 season.

There was a narrative starting to form then that we actually sort of push back on

about this idea of Kirby Smart and Georgia needing to win a national championship in 2021.

That somehow Kirby Smart had been head coach for for, what, since 2016, they've

been 16, 17, 18, 19, five total seasons on the job. Oh my gosh, after five seasons of

being a head coach, Kirby Smart still hasn't won a head coach, still doesn't want a national

championship. And the thing that a lot of people in the media are trying to do was, well,

if Kirby Smart doesn't want a national championship right now, when is he ever going to win one? That was the sort of

chatter about Georgia moving into the 2021 season. What we said going into that year, now, of course,

the year ended with Georgia winning the national championship. But what we said going into that

year was, listen, whether Georgia did or didn't win

the title in 2021 as a national contender, we didn't think that Georgia was going anywhere anytime

soon, that Georgia was going to remain very much in play for championship success.

Ultimately, that whole discussion became moot because eventually Georgia won it all.

And to Kirby Smart's credit, while he certainly didn't call his own shot or guarantee anything,

prior to that crucial year in which some of the media were starting to ask some fairly impolite questions,

you know, Kirby Smart was more than happy to embrace the championship expectations at Georgia. Now, I'm playing this
