Imagine you're accused of a murder you didn't commit.

What's the worst alibi you could possibly have?

It's the one with no eyewitnesses, right? It's the one that's

impossible to prove and might even seem a bit too convenient. Now picture your dread as a detective leans across the interrogation table and asks,

where were you on the morning of such and such a date, between 3 and six in the morning.

Your heart sinks because your only answer is the honest one.

I was at home, asleep all night in bed by myself. It's an alibi like this that can put a person in the hot seat, even if they are telling the truth. Now imagine investigators uncover a mountain of evidence, showing the murder happened right outside your home.

They also find a string of text messages between you and the victim,

revealing an argument you'd had that very night. To make matters worse,

the victim was supposed to be sleeping beside you that night, the mother of your

infant child.

Think about how far-fetched your alibi sounds now.

This is exactly what happened to a father in Green Bay, Wisconsin. And as we know from so many other cases,

proving someone didn't commit murder

can sometimes be more difficult

than proving they did.
