All right, coming up in a couple of minutes, I have a stat today, and while it may be too strong of a phrase to say it's going to blow your mind,

I do believe you'll find it to be very, very interesting. We'll get to that here coming

up at a moment. It actually kind of stands as a follow-up to a topic that we discussed a little bit on

yesterday's show. I think you'll really like this here coming up in just a couple of minutes time.

Prior to that, though, let me begin this way. There was a period of time in like early days of the

Kirby Smart era where I have to admit, I sort of saw what I thought was a little bit of a troubling trend playing out at Georgia, and I have to admit at the time I wasn't quite so sure what it meant. Think about the conclusion of the 2018 season for a moment. This is that time in which Georgia seemed really close to winning a national championship, but just not quite able to break through. And you kept thinking, man, if you could just sort of hold on to some of this talent, you might have a chance to really put it together in the upcoming year, whatever year that was. But for whatever reason, that just wasn't happening.

I remember off the 2018 team, a team that was actually offensively pretty good at Georgia.

I think they led, or at least they were near the get, they didn't lead the SEC in scoring,

but they were near the top of the SEC in scoring that year.

You had some very successful players who had the opportunity to return.

I'm thinking about Elijah Holyfield at running back.

He had more than a thousand yards.

I'm thinking about receivers that clearly had NFL futures like Riley Ridley,

McCull Hardman, who was actually gone on in some ways to sort of star at times in the NFL.

He had these receivers like Hardman and Ridley who had kind of NFL draft futures and they might could come back.

And yet we were seeing these guys all choose to leave.

We were seeing these guys move on to the NFL.

And at the time, I was wondering, what's this about?

How come these guys don't want to come back and be a part of this at Georgia?
