Summary

Darren Kinnaird is the ringleader for all things Crankworx, and with so much change happening these days in the world of mountain bike events, Crankworx seems uniquely poised to push the sport forward. When we heard about a big announcement from Crankworx about what to expect from the series next year, Brian Park and I caught up with Kinnaird to hear the full story.

Hello and welcome to the Pink Pike podcast. I'm Alicia and I'm here today with

0:15.5

Kaz and Dario to catch up just a little bit before we head into the main episode.

It's definitely hitting the slow

0:21.4

part of the season right now with racing kind of over in the Northern Hemisphere and even the

0:26.4

talk about racing dying down, but we did see the latest version of the UCI rulebook come out recently.

0:32.1

Nothing in that hit me as very groundbreaking, but it's interesting that we'll probably see

0:36.7

world champs for

0:37.9

Enduro, E-Induro, and snow biking this year, which does seem like a change.

1:18.7

that bike um just a good well-rounded trail bike did all the things i wanted it to do climbed well

1:25.6

descended well um i think my chief complaint about it was came down to frame quality.

1:31.6

Just little finishing touches, really, that all, I'd say all of the other, like, premium brands are offering at this point that transition isn't.

1:42.0

And when you're paying the same amount that you'd pay

1:45.2

for a Santa Cruz or for a specialized then you know I think that you kind of can expect those

1:54.2

higher touch points do you think that stuff affects the ride quality or is it more just a principal

2:00.2

issue of like spending that much money on something without the finer details?
