Halle, Brevard County, the school board meetings,

there are anything but calm.

The one that we went to wasn't completely out of control,

but I can tell you that people,

all kinds of parents that I talked to describe those meetings

now as a circus or a show.

Other people say it's just passionate people,

expressing their rights as parents,

but it has definitely become contentious for all the reasons

that you just mentioned.

These hot button issues are coming into play,

sometimes coming from the outside and being brought in

to Brevard County.

I had a chance to speak with the board chairwoman.

She's been there eight years on the board.

She's technically, as all of them are, nonpartisan,

but she said things have gotten so out of control.

It's really hurting her staff.
