Today in Romans chapter 1, verse 1, I want to share with you a verse that I hope will be

Apostle Paul says, Paul, bond servant of Jesus Christ and an apostle

separated to the gospel. Three things I see there. One is that Paul was a servant before he was an

Servant came before his calling, his title.

It's a challenge for all of us, I think, to remember that, number one, we have to pick up a towel before we grab a title.

A lot of times ministry, whether you're an apostle, leader, teacher, pastor, evangelist,

whatever that title is, that calling is, that is always second.

The first one is a servant. When we don't embrace the mindset,

the attitude of a servant, we don't embrace the motive of why we do what we do, which is to serve not just people, but serve the Lord. Ministry, serving, doing anything with the call of God is going to

quickly turn sour because ministry is not necessarily one of those things you go in to find

your validation, you find your identity, you find your affirmation, fix your daddy issues, or you find healing

for your emotional insecurities, ministry will expose all of that and put pressure on that.

And that's where most of us, we get penalized because our motives are not pure to start with.
