I think one of the senses that you get as we head towards the SEC Championship on Saturday

is things are just a little bit different

around these two teams, Georgia and Alabama, on, I guess at face value, the first thing that's

mainly different is, is that the pedigree now kind of rests with George in a way that it used

to rest with Alabama. Alabama at one point time was, as we've said before, the full and complete gold standard

in all of college football. And yet somewhat that has changed now that Georgia has won the last

two national championships. It's no longer Georgia aspiring to be where Alabama is. I would say

that for now, is it Alabama aspiring to be where Georgia is. That's one of the things that's clearly most different

about the get together between the dogs and the Crimson Tide tomorrow in Atlanta. But there's

more about this that sort of feels different than just that. You know, in recent years, it's been

Alabama who's been this very explosive offense, really leaning on offense more than defense

in order to try to win

and be a championship level team.

That, I would say, has worked for them to mix results, perhaps more mixed than they even

realize.

But nonetheless, that's been kind of the caricature drawn of Alabama, a very explosive offense,

trying to help a defense that was trying to do just enough to win.

This year, it feels like that's a little bit
