1:02.0 | So let me start by just asking a little bit about you. Tell us about you, your background and |
1:06.4 | how you got where you are and what your career, what your job looks like, how you spend your time. |
1:11.6 | Sure, so I, as you can hear from my accent and the South African by birth, |
1:17.7 | came to the United States more than 30 years ago and did most of my training here. I went to |
1:24.4 | med school at Johns Hopkins and did residency fellowship and I've been on faculty here and |
1:30.7 | I've never left 30 years later. So this is sort of my home. |
1:36.3 | Currently an associate professor and I'm the clinical director of the division of nephrology. |
1:42.8 | I spend probably 60, 70 time in patient care and it really involves everything. |
1:52.8 | Outpatient dialysis, outpatient clinical care, particularly interesting lupus and HIV kidney disease |
2:01.0 | and rounding on inpatient services, probably 20 weeks of the year. |
2:06.1 | Much of that in the ICU and the cancer center and on the floor is different services. |
