Vanderbilt on Saturday, but the biggest headline is the injury to Brock Bowers and his

uncertain status, at least for now, moving forward. Now, the, I guess, somewhat good news was

is that in the immediate aftermath of the game on Saturday, Georgia coach Kirby Smart, speaking in what was essentially what, like a construction type trailer or something like that, the entire stadium there in Nashville in a total state of disarray.

But nonetheless, Kirby Smart speaking in his postgame preference, struck a mostly hopeful tone about what he knew about Bowers at the time. This is the closest thing we have

right now to an on the record update on the Bauer situation. So let's let ourselves here. Kirby Smart

post game from Saturday. Here's Kirby. It's the ankle spring. Don't know how severe

x-rated and they were, the X-rays were negative. It looked like it was lower, but we don't know. Until we get an MRI, we won't know him or trust. Same thing. Both of them are ankle springs. Obviously, he's also referencing the injury to Xavier Trust. Monroe Freeling stepping in for him and playing well on Saturday. More on that in a moment. So Kirby Smart says there that

it was his belief a lower ankle sprain. A lower ankle sprain is better than a higher ankle

sprain because a higher ankle sprain takes longer to recover from. In fact, in this day and age,

oftentimes the higher ankle sprain results in what's known as the tightrope surgery. I mean,

if you've heard of this before, in fact, this is what Amarius Mims is going through right now coming back from that. This has been around football. I was saying this to our first and 15 audience on dognation.com and the dog nation app a moment ago, the first tightrope, I think I remember. Now, perhaps they've been around a lot longer than that. I am not a medical expert. I remember Tuatungo Violoa dealing with this before the 2018 national championship game, kind of post-SEC championship prior to the national championship. He spent that month kind of coming back from that. That's the first of these that I remember, perhaps. It's been around a lot longer than that.

That's just my first memory of it. It's the kind of thing that football fans have gotten somewhat used to.

I certainly cannot tell you for a fact that Bowers will or will not have any kind of surgery that it does or does not have a high ankle sprain.

I'm not going to also pretend there isn't plenty of online chatter to that

effect. The idea that perhaps the injury situation for Brock is a little bit more serious than what
