In 2022 Tiger Woods was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame and he gave a speech that was supposed to be about

seven minutes and he was supposed to read it from a teleprompter but it actually went on for 17

minutes and he gave the speech without any notes and one of the things he said in the speech that really impacted

me that I want to share with you today is this quote, if you don't go out there and put in the work,

if you don't go out there and put in the effort, one, you're not going to get the results and two,

more importantly, you don't deserve it. You need to earn it close quote.

And the reason I really like that is because a lot of times we forget or we underestimate how important preparation is

and how important it is to be fully present when you prepare. Every shot, every lift, every rep,

everything you do, well, you're collecting and building this library that this pool of certainty so that when

it's time to perform, you can have peace of mind knowing that you did everything you could to be ready.

You know you deserve and you earned the peace of mind because you put in the reps.

You went out there and you put in the work like Tiger said, you put in the effort because if you don't,

you can get lucky a couple of times. You might be able to get lucky more than a couple of times.

But at the end, if you're not putting in the reps, the quality, purposeful practice, then you're not going to

be able to sustain excellence at the at the clip that you probably want to and perform at the best,

at the best level, the highest level with the best out there. And this is not just for athletes,

this is for students, for business professionals, for leaders of any kind.

So I'll read the quote one more time. If you don't go out there and put in the work,

if you don't go out and put in the effort, one, you're not going to get the results.

And two, more importantly, you don't deserve it. You need to earn it.
