Good morning and welcome to the Increasing Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode

2017. Today we are talking about competition. Competition comes from the Latin word

competieri or competere. I don't know how to pronounce that, but it means to strive together.

Competition means to strive together. In other words, when you're giving your best

and the person you're competing against is giving their best, you're bringing the best out of each

other. You take each other to a level that you can't get to by yourself. You're striving for

greatness together. That's why competition is so good.

That's a good part about it. That's why you hear coaches and elite athletes say compete, because when

you compete and give your best, yes, you might win. Yes, you might lose. But what happens is you get better.

And that person who's giving their best, at the same time you're giving your best,

together you're pulling out the best from each other.

And so here's to competition.

Here's to leaning into difficulty.

Because a lot of times we want the easy road.

We want the easy competitor.

We want to play the easy team.

It's amazing to see people at the same level or maybe they're a little bit better than you.

What that does the performance.

Once again, it's going to be a third time I say it.

It can take you and help you achieve levels

that you can't get to by yourself. And so here's to competing. Go out there, give your best

so you can bring out the best in others and they can bring out the best in you. Have a great day.
