Good morning and welcome to the Increase Room Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 2016.

0:06.1

Today I heard a story of a CEO of a multi-billion dollar company who has a very specific routine.

0:13.6

Every time he enters his office, the first 30 minutes of his day, he will pull out note cards and he will write thank you notes to employees

0:24.1

in his company. Now, these notes, the thank yous come from things he either witnessed or come from

0:34.8

employees that told him good things people are doing in his company.

0:39.9

And he just wanted to send a personalized note to them to say, thank you so much for your work.

0:44.4

It is being noticed. It matters so much.

0:47.4

Now, the reason this really inspired me is because, number one, it shows the importance. He goes on to explain. Somebody asked,

1:19.3

you're wasting your time doing that. And he goes on to say that just the Einstein quote,

1:24.9

just because you can't count it, that doesn't mean it doesn't count.

1:29.1

Essentially, it doesn't mean it doesn't matter. And he says that at the end of the day,

1:33.9

it's the people. It's the employees who are making things run in the company. And for a person

1:42.8

in his position to be able to express gratitude and to catch

1:46.2

people winning, yes, you might not be able to put a data point, a number on it. However, to him,

1:52.3

it's a heart thing. It's to express appreciation and thank you for the work that you're doing.

1:58.5

And maybe it will help and maybe it doesn't. Maybe it will be a breath

2:04.6

fresh air or inspiration or motivational or just a little sign of appreciation that you matter,

2:12.3

that your work matters, that we are, that the little things that you do make a big difference in
