0:20.8	impressive professor of pediatrics from Johns Hopkins, who is an infectious disease specialist.
0:27.3	And I've been wanting to do this episode for a long time on COVID in kids,
0:32.2	but have not managed to get around to it. And so today we are going to do it. And I have with
0:36.7	me, Dr. Anna Sixamuels. She's an assistant professor of pediatrics at Johns Hopkins
0:41.8	and an associate hospital epidemiologist in the Department of Hospital,
0:45.2	epidemiology and infection control here at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She actually was a
0:50.0	med student here at Hopkins and then did an MPH while she was doing her medical school here at
0:54.6	the Bloomberg School. She went to Pittsburgh for residency. Then she came back to Hopkins for her
0:58.9	ID fellowship and stayed on faculty. And she for research focuses on the development of effective
1:05.1	strategies to prevent healthcare associated infections in children. She also has been a main
1:11.3	state of the support for the response to COVID-19 here at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. And definitely
1:16.9	on the side of caring for children. So she really is an expert in this area. I'm thrilled that I
1:22.8	could convince her to come on the show. Anna, thanks so much for being here.
1:26.3	It's my pleasure, Judd. Thank you for inviting me and excited to speak with everyone
1:31.8	about COVID in kids because we actually get lots of questions and so hopefully we'll be able to
1:37.2	answer some of yours. I love it. And yes, we've you know, we've done episodes on adults and I love
1:43.5	that I actually this impetus came from some of my residents who were saying what about the kids
1:48.1	and and so I think this is really long overdue. So I mentioned that your area of focus prior to COVID
1:55.8	was in the looking at and trying to prevent healthcare associated infections in kids. Was that a
2:02.4	natural kind of morph into COVID care? What kind of was it? Was it well, hey, everybody's obviously
2:09.9	needs to help out with COVID or did your research and interest kind of dovetail directly into
