We here at DCP have the incredible privilege of bringing you a show every week about a

video game and we will do that again this week but before we do we wanted to say a

quick word about the protests happening around our country. The murder of

George Floyd by Minneapolis police once again brought to our attention the extreme

injustice and institutionalized racism suffered by black men, women, and

children across this nation every day. Violent, often deadly, systematic persecution at the hands of those that we have asked to protect and serve us.

In black communities across our nation, police are feared because any interaction with them can lead to getting shot, beaten, or locked away for minor infractions or made-up bullshit.

Police exhibit an us-first- them attitude that manifests much more in

encounters with black Americans. This is not a shared experience

among the white and the black communities of America.

As a white man, the last time I got pulled over was for speeding.

I had a short conversation with the officer about manual transmissions and I got a written

warning.

It was an inconvenience.

The same situation is a terrifying and life and death moment for our black brothers and

sisters who don't have the privilege or expectation of a safe encounter with police.
