0:48.3	As we speak, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization

0:55.1	is holding its first meeting since Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert
0:59.1	F. Kennedy Jr. reconstituted the group, removing 17 members and replacing them with eight new members,
1:05.9	some of whom have been vocal critics of vaccines. And this meeting is important because it could give us one of the
1:11.9	strongest indications yet of where vaccine policies headed in this country. Among the issues
1:17.4	ACIP is expected to vote on in its two-day meeting are the composition of the 2025-2020-26 flu vaccine
1:23.9	and recommendations for a newly approved monoclonal antibody vaccine to prevent
1:28.3	RSV in infants. But in a newly added agenda item, the group will also discuss and vote on
1:34.3	recommendations regarding flu vaccines that contain thomerosol, an ingredient that anti-vaccine
1:40.0	advocates have long been suspicious of. On this June 26th episode of the podcast, we're going to discuss the newly reconstituted
1:48.2	ACIP and how this week's meeting could signal the beginning of significant changes in
1:53.1	U.S. vaccine policy.
