And today folks, we are rewinding back to October the 15th, 2019, just a few years ago,

and we're going to talk about saving seeds and starting plants. This was originally episode 2530.

I picked a variety of stuff this week for you in Rewind while I'm taking care of the anarcho

watch party, and I wanted to bring in some skill set videos as well. I'm sorry, skill set episodes

and I wanted to bring in some of the skill sets that if you'd gone back and tried to talk to

people from my grandfather's generation about developing the skill of saving seeds and starting

plants, they would have laughed at you because they would have been like, oh who,

who that even remotely cares about this doesn't know how to do it. And they also would have said,

you realize how simple this is. You leave some of the beans on the plant and you wait until they

go to a dry bean status and then you pull the bean pods off and you throw them in a paper bag

and you take about twice what you think you're going to need in case anything goes wrong.

And you put them somewhere where the rats can't get them and then you plant them next year.

You don't even take them out of the husk. You just when you're planting them, you pop them out

and stick them in the ground. That way they protected it like nature would do it. And some of you

all just learned something, right? You didn't even think it was a lie. I thought I had to get them out

of that pod. Wouldn't it be better off in the pod if you're not putting them in an envelope and

sending them somebody? Didn't that how nature does it? My grandfather used to when he planted the
