I was at the Kamala Harris campaign announcement.

Well, to be fair, I was outside of the Kamala Harris campaign announcement.

The line to get into Frankagawa Plaza outside of Oakland City Hall was really long. But once I got a

sense of the crowd I felt like I could see the rest on TV which I did. And it was a massive crowd. According to the campaign, it happened in front of 20,000 people.

At that point, the biggest crowd for a 20-20 presidential announcement on the Democratic side.

Yesterday I walked down to Grand Avenue in Oakland and passed the Kamala Harris headquarters here in her hometown.

I'd only been walking this route for a few weeks, but whenever I walked by it was empty. It's usually between 7 and 9 a.m.

And granted that's a little early for a regular business but if you're in the business of

getting somebody elected president you might assume somebody was there maybe a

light on an open gate something like that but no there's always empty and it's going to stay that

way too.

The bell has told for Kamala. It ends a campaign that couldn't make it out of 2019

raised an impressive amount of money in the Bay Area in Hollywood and then

Politico specifically chronicled the crumbling of her campaign.

It made crystal clear that Harris 2020 simply wasn't to be.

It was disorganized.

She initially focused on South Carolina, presumably to cultivate the black vote.
