Memorial Day weekend is upon us here.

And we've got one of the biggest veteran entrepreneurs in the state of Texas on the show, Wes Whitlock. How are you? Doing great now after coming in and having cookies and whiskey and seeing fun faces. It's fucking wild, isn't it? Yeah, it's a cool place, man. I've had a lot of friends come through here for a lot of good things. I know. So it's cool to finally connect, you know?

I've had a lot of friends through here. Well, and a lot of people have pitched you on the show, and I'm like, hey, dude, I told Stacy, I was like, we're leaving on fucking Thursday. So I was like, come on in and then just do the show. And because you're a local text and you're a real one. No, I'm a transplant too. I was in D.C. before here, but I've been here 20 years now. 20 years is, that's enough. Like, anything beyond that in Austin to me is like, okay, cool, you're good. Yeah, you were here before all the sky rise and all the stuff going on down town. All the bullshit. Before the Google sign was up over Zoker Park. Yeah. You know, when it was cool. Yeah. I shot my first movie here 26 years ago. Dang. Which is wild. When it was still cool, yeah. Still cool. And none of that shit was here. So Google, Facebook, you know, we work, all that other bullshit wasn't here. And it was a blast. Now, I did get tricked into moving here, Wes, because every time I shot a film here, it was in the fall.

Was it a hippie hollow?

I had no idea how fucking, yeah, we went to a hippie hollow, but I had no idea how hot it was here.

And the first year that I was here, I was fucking stunt.

I could not believe it, because the three times that I'd been, it was all and it was all in late October to, you know, the end of the year. So I was like, man, what a beautiful, awesome, magical place. And then today it's fucking 102 degrees. It's hot, bro. It's fucking end your life, dude. Yeah, dude. I think that's what keeps a lot of people out of here. I remember when we first moved here, we walked up 6th Street to Congress and just the whole time just drenched. And I'm like, man, I don't know about this Austin thing, dude. So, but yeah, it's the fall, the winter's great. Summer's a brutal. Yeah, my car said 108 when I drove out here. So, um, but yeah, it's

Austin, man. You know, it's got pros and cons. It's got great music and food and a lot of cool people and, um, a lot of cool creative stuff happening here still. So yeah, I, and I'll miss all that. Like I, I do enjoy that. And I do enjoy the people like you, uh, because look, you've been here 20 plus years you're good you're real Austin night but the other all the

I'm making moves as well. Yeah. Is it too expensive? What's the fucking story? No, just kind of change. And it's kind of, you know, I want to make a big change. I want to get some space. I want to get some land. Do the whole thing. Get some land, build a little place. It's expensive here to get land. Texas people say, oh, it's expensive.

Even outside of Austin, you can't get much, and it's hot, it's dry.
