Hello, welcome to The Nothing is Wasted Podcast. My name is Davey. I'm your host and joining me are co-host Aubrey.

Aubrey. And we have an incredible episode for you listeners and Davey. We even have a love story for you. I feel like this is sort of your dream episode today.

This is my dream. If we could just interview major league baseball players or former major league baseball players every single episode, I would be in heaven. However, I don't think our producer Taylor would be okay with that.

I don't think I would be the right person for that podcast either because I'd be like, oh, what team do you play for? What position is that again? What does that mean?

There are a few people that can get me to kind of geek out. And I mean, and this one was. I mean, today's interview is with Darryl Strawberry.

I feel like we need a drum roll for that. Darryl Strawberry. I was honestly shocked. I heard a couple of years ago that Darryl Strawberry had a phenomenal testimony that he was passionately pursuing the Lord. And I knew him as like, one of baseball's bad boys.

You know, I mean, this was which he talks about in this story. But when we sat down and started having a conversation, the entire team is where sitting here recording it. They're like, taking pictures in video of me because I'm just geeked out. Like, Brian, I super excited.

Our podcast producer Taylor did text me a picture of you. I don't know if you know this. And you do. You just look like a little boy.

I was back into my like eight year old boy self, you know, watching even my husband, Kevin, who knew that we were going to have Darryl on. I mean, he was feeling a little like geeked out and a little boyish too. He was like, I had posters on him on my wall.

And in case you are not like me or Kevin Samson, and you don't have baseball cards galore of Darryl Strawberry, you need to know this about him. He's a former Major League Baseball player, a four time world series winner. Unbelievable.

Multiple multiple all star appearances. One of baseball's best. However, he does have a really crazy story about some drug addiction and all kinds of things that he's going to dive into right here. Now he's traveling all over the country, all over the world, sharing the gospel.

Amazing.

I heard this first because of the church that I've spoken here a couple times. They actually are a partner church. Nothing is wasted. They run the paint of purpose course called the blended church. They had him in to share his testimony. And I'm like, wait a minute. I had no idea Darryl Strawberry love Jesus. So how cool is that?

That is so cool.

We're going to hear about how that happens in this conversation with them. It's awesome.

He's also the author of a new book that he's just released, which has an incredible title. By the way, it's called Turn Your Season Around.
