Hello? Hello, Sydney. What is up, you spooky bitches? We are back with another episode of the Hello Sydney podcast here at Podcasts for horror lovers where we discuss any and all things horror. And it's me, your girl, Sydney. Happy Wednesday. Happy last week of January. We made it. Finally. Yeah. We're here. We're here. Been a rough week. Not going to lie. Been a rough week for those of us living here in America. And every day we get on our phones, we are just living through another historical event and seeing

people be shot dead in the street and just have to go on and pretend like everything's okay.

So yeah, been pretty fucking depressing, to be perfectly honest. So to anybody who feels the same way,

I hope you are all taking care of yourselves, to anybody who lives in Minneapolis. I hope you guys are staying safe.

I hope your families are staying safe. I really just, I'm so concerned on a daily basis of

everything I see. It just makes me so worried. So I hope you're safe. I hope everybody's safe.

I hope everybody is doing as well as they can be. Again, I hope you're taking care of yourselves.

I hope you're doing something that makes you even a little bit happy or gives you a little bit of

hope. But yeah, let's stop talking about the horrors of the world and move on to talking about

horror movies that help us escape from the horrors of the world. And today we're talking about

a very important movie in today's climate

and any climate, really. I think it is probably the most culturally significant movie since Get Out.

And it will end up being one of the most culturally significant movies of this century,

I think, honestly. And it has already taken a record. And I'm glad that I waited to do this movie until the end of the month because Sinners is officially the most Oscar-Nameded movie in history. It beat Titanic. It beat out every other movie. The record currently is Titanic. And I think like La La Land is tied with it. They have 14 nominations.

So it beat it by two. Sixteen nominations. Sixteen Oscar nominations for sinners. And it deserves

every fucking one of them. And I hope it sweeps. I don't know if I have high hopes just because

again, like I know how horror is disrespected at the Oscars, but they will obviously be winning some. And what an incredible, incredible thing to be able to say.

And what an incredible accomplishment and Ryan Coogler and the cast. Like, I'm so proud of them.

This movie absolutely fucking deserves it. This is a generational movie. It truly is one of those movies

that comes along like once in a blue moon and just blows you away. And being able to see this movie,

when I went to see it, I saw it in IMAX and like it was literally like a fucking spiritual

awakening. Like I'm not even being dramatic. It was literally like the most eye-opening and most beautiful experience
