Jonah, it is great to be here. Thank you for having me and I just want to say congratulations to you and all the other guys at the Dispatch. I'm hearing great things about it. What I see is terrific. I hear a lot of people saying it is the second best conservative publication out there. So, well done.

I appreciate that. I'll tell you what, it's fine to be the second best conservative publication out there right now. We haven't had the full launch yet and we have to aim for something.

You guys are like the little mechanical bunny that we, Greyhound, chase. That's fine. Oh, I should say who this podcast is sponsored by today.

Okay, so this is a full disclosure for listeners. We're racking up some podcasts here because I'm about to leave the country and not because of that warrant. I got that quashed.

But we figured we should do one rank punditry thing before the end of the year and the rank is pundit I know is Jim Garrity.

And so we've checking my deodorant. We figured we would do this. And so we were recording this on Tuesday, December 17th, whatever that that sounds right to me.

And so where to begin. Let's not begin with the impeachment stuff. Let's begin with the fantastic firing and also our cylinders, democratic primary.

You know, Jonah, this is a very big week. Wednesday night, which is tomorrow night, a new episode of the Mandalorian drops early on Disney+.

Thursday, when many theaters have their advanced screening of the rise of Skywalker, the Democratic National Committee in all of its wisdom has chosen schedule.

It's democratic debate, which I am more or less contractually obligated to watch. It will be their first debate that has seven people participating, not the full ten.

Several candidates might get to speak once every 15 minutes with so many fewer candidates up on stage. It will not feature Cory Booker.

It will not feature Julian Castro. There was at one point a look like it was going to be an entirely pallid selection of candidates, which made many, you know, quite a few Democrats were upset by that.

I have hated this debate structure for a whole bunch of different reasons. I'm besides the usual ideological reasons. I think the Democratic National Committee by trying to be fair have ended up with a very bad system for everybody.

I think the only way to get a 100% threshold early on was way too low. I think having a two night debate with ten candidates of each night was ridiculous early on. I guess it's worth it to have a cameo appearance by a Tim Ryan type or a Michael Bennett type.

But by and large, you can't have a good debate with ten people up on stage. I really think you max out at like five, six, seven, maybe.

This should be a big deal. It's six days before Christmas. I don't, you know, a couple nights before Hanukkah. I don't think this is really when people are really tuned into this. This is going on in the middle of the impeachment process.

What they've done by having first by having 26 candidates at once point and then by having just so many people up on stage. You haven't seen a lot of churn in that field. Joe Biden has been the front runner nationally this entire process.
