In this week’s episode, JCK editor-in-chief Victoria Gomelsky and news director Rob Bates talk with Susan Posnock in her capacity of Director of Public Affairs and Education at Jewelers of America. Susan explains the many ways that JA serves the industry. They discuss how the tariffs are impacting jewelry businesses and JA’s advocacy efforts on tariffs as well as other issues. They also talk about Susan’s other role (though not strictly industry-related) as Rob’s spouse. 0:49.3	It's okay. I'm a little nervous about this guest we have today, but otherwise I'm pretty good. I'm doing okay. Don't be nervous. It's all good. You're going to Dubai soon, I believe. I am. So we're recording this on the 12th, I believe. Is it the 12th? Yes, it is the 12th. No, it's the 13th. I'm so sorry. It is the 13th of November. And on the 17th of November, I am flying to Dubai to attend my very first Dubai watch week, which is now, I think, in its 10th year. It's a biennial event, so it's not every year. But I've been to Dubai, but I've never been to this event, which is meant to be very prestigious. It got a lot of brands showing, and there is going to be a keynote with
1:31.7	the president. I don't actually know if his title is president or CEO of Rolex. Wow. And you've
1:38.6	met him, right? Well, I did meet him as far as I remember when he was the head of Zenith. So he is going to be in conversation
1:46.8	with one of the Siddiquis, the family, the Siddiqui family and retailer in the middle. They are
1:53.3	kind of the, what's the equivalent really? Maybe the Booker of the Middle East. They're really one of
1:58.7	the key watch retailers in the world and they have
2:01.2	quite a presence in Dubai and around the Emirates and so on. So they are the family that hosts the
2:07.3	event and they have for a decade now and there's going to be a lot of keynotes. So I'm really excited
2:12.3	to hear what these people have to say, especially Mr. Dufour, who does not typically do things like this. I've never heard
2:19.2	of a keynote presentation where the head of Rolex will speak. You know, it'll be, I'm sure,
2:23.8	quite managed and I suspect there will not be a lot of off-the-cuff questions or perhaps, I don't
2:28.8	know if there'll be any from the audience accepted, but if there are that, that could get very
2:32.5	interesting. So stay tuned. I will be
2:34.9	full of hopefully interesting tidbits and anecdotes and just news when I, when I head back. I'll be back.
