In preparation for my return to Stephen King's short story collections, I'm re-releasing my original review of the stories collected within Night Shift.  Stay tuned for my next episode in which I review the stories I didn't get around to the first time.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Stephen King's musings on the works of Stephen King.

Each week I will review one entry in the bibliography of Stephen King and the chronological order of publication.

Today we're going to discuss Stephen King's first collection of short stories Night Shift.

Published in 1978, the collection contains 20 short stories, 16 of which had already been published in magazines.

Of these 10 stories, 10 of them were later adapted into theatrical films or television

events. Children of the Corn received seven sequels and a remake. Sometimes they came back,

received two sequels. The lawnmower man and the mangler received a sequel each, and trucks,

under the awes 80s title Maximum Overdrive, had the distinction of being the first movie Stephen King ever directed and was later remade with its original name.
