Hello everyone and welcome to the Stephen King's musings on the works of Stephen King.

Each week I will review one entry in the bibliography of Stephen King and the chronological order of publication.

Today we're going to discuss Stephen King's first collection of short stories Night Shift.

Published in 1978, the collection contains 20 short stories, 16 of which had already been published in magazines.

Of these 10 stories, 10 of them were later adapted into theatrical films or television

events. Children of the Corn received seven sequels and a remake. Sometimes they came back,

received two sequels. The lawnmower man and the mangler received a sequel each, and trucks,

under the awes 80s title Maximum Overdrive, had the distinction of being the first movie Stephen King ever directed and was later remade with its original name.

So by this point of publication, Stephen King had already made a name for himself.

Two years earlier, Kerry was released in theaters, with Salem's Lot and The Shining Soon on their way.

The structure of this episode is going to sound just a little different than the regular

Stephen King cast.

But, you know, because it's a collection of short stories, I'm going to select and discuss

what I believe the strongest entries are.
